Overview:
This unique yet minimalist Moroccan runner features a distorted trellis pattern. As a slightly wider runner, this piece would be great as an entryway rug in a contemporary home. This Azilal rug is made from a unique upcycling method. The knotted parts that are visible from the top are made from undyed sheep's wool. The base of the rug, that can only be seen from the underside of the piece, is made from deconstructed blue plastic souk bags, called "hencha." Some of that blue material peaks through in parts where the knotted pile is worn down with age (see the last photo for reference). Otherwise, you would only notice the "hencha" material if you were to turn the rug upside down.
