This shawl and a Tibetan woven textile started my love of Himalayan textiles when I was a teenager. My teachers Kamala and Jhoti wore these beautiful, ultrasoft hand woven shawls over their saris in Kathmandu in the most elegant way.  I asked where I could find them for my mom and sister. Kamala took me to meet a master Nepali weaver in a small workshop in Kathmandu who made them one by one on a hand loom. These beautiful shawls are in perfect condition 35 years later.
